Annual Water System Flushing: January 29, 2024 - March 29, 2024
From January 29, 2024 to March 29, 2024 the District’s water system will undergo the annual flushing program in order to remove sediment, improve water quality and maintain our fire hydrants.
During this time, you may notice changes in water pressure, along with discolouration and sediment in the water. This is a temporary condition and is not a health hazard.
To avoid inconvenience, be sure to check your water before doing laundry, cooking, or bathing. It may be more suitable to do laundry in the evening, after 4:00 PM, and before 8:00 AM, or on the weekends. Residents may wish to keep water in the refrigerator for drinking or cooking during this time. Each zone will take approx. 1-2 days to complete, and a daily update of where utility crews are performing flushing activities will be provided on Ucluelet.ca/Water and social media accounts.
